Graduate Bursary Placement Scheme

24th August, 2010

Aston University is working in partnership with Advantage West Midlands in providing the Graduate Bursary Placement Scheme.

The scheme in short, is a government-funded project that is paying out £800 bursaries to social enterprises and other SMEs in the West Midlands who take on a graduate for either a four week placement, or a permanent position.

You can take a graduate from the scheme, matched to your personal business requirement, or you can recruit your own employee in house. All they need to have is a degree , and an address in the West Midlands, and £800 is yours.

The graduate bursary placement scheme is a regionally funded project which aims to introduce the skills of graduates to businesses throughout the West Midlands and crucially, to help more businesses recruit, train and retrain graduates by offering companies free front-end recruitment and access to top quality graduates.

The scheme runs on a four week full or part-time basis, and offers an £800 bursary to employers who take on a full-time graduate to cover the costs of employment (£400 part-time).

This unique scheme presents an ideal occassion to try out a new graduate in an uncertain economic climate.

This is a great opportunity for companies to utilise the services of graduates who are looking to develop their skills through undertaking graduate level work. By employing a graduate, your business could gain fresh energy and ideas, you could complete a project that your organisation just doesn't have the time or facilities to finalise; design a better website; improve your marketing technique - the opportunities are endless.

This is a hugely popular scheme that is reaching its end in September. There is still a chance to get on board and receive your share of government funding.
